Managing Director
Renae Shields
Renae Shields has served as the Managing Director of Kennedy Eyecare since February of 2022. During her leadership, the practice has experienced significant growth, expanding to include two additional locations in Checotah, Oklahoma, and Atoka, Oklahoma. She currently oversees and manages all three practices, working closely with each team to ensure exceptional patient care and strong community presence.
Renae is deeply invested in the communities Kennedy Eyecare serves. She is actively involved in all three local Chambers of Commerce and holds chair positions with both the Atoka and McAlester Chambers. In recognition of her dedication to service and leadership, she was honored as the McAlester Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year in 2025. She has also participated in leadership initiatives across all locations, continually striving to grow both personally and professionally.
Outside of the office, Renae is a wife, mother of two, and proud dog mom to a black lab and a golden retriever. When she’s able to step onto the optical floor, her favorite part of patient care is frame styling—after all, she believes frames are the fun part. With a personal collection to prove it, she’s always happy to help patients find the perfect pair.
Optical Manager
Brittnie Weeks
Brittnie Weeks has been a dedicated member of the Kennedy Eyecare team since March 2019. She began her career with the company as an optician, where she spent three years building strong relationships with patients and developing a strong foundation in optical care.
Her commitment, leadership, and passion for excellence led to her promotion to Optical Manager. In her current role, Brittnie oversees operations at the McAlester, Atoka, and Checotah locations, ensuring each office delivers exceptional patient care and a positive team environment.
In addition to her leadership role, Brittnie is a certified vision screener for Oklahoma public schools and proudly provides free vision screenings for a locally based nonprofit organization. She is passionate about improving access to eye care and serving her community beyond the clinic walls.
Brittnie is known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and compassionate leadership style. She takes pride in being a dependable leader and a valued asset to Kennedy Eyecare.
Outside of work, Brittnie is a proud mother of three. She enjoys camping, fishing, and spending quality time with her family.
